Should power locks become disabled or a safety belt jam after an accident, the double-sided steel hammer heads allow the vehicle occupant to shatter side and rear windows, while a safely concealed razor-sharp blade cuts easily through safety belts. This product includes a mounting bracket (made of tough ABS plastic), a polypropylene grip and handle, and a florescent pin which glows in the dark.

I ordered these for myself and my husband as a precautionary safety tool. We live near water and have a fear of possibly driving into the water and becoming trapped. A few months after purchasing them I used mine at the scene of an auto accident when the driver and passenger were trapped and couldn't unlock the doors. I was able to break the back window EASILY and unlock the door. You literally just need to tap the glass and it shatters.
I am now ordering the 2 pack to give as Christmas gifts with hopes that they are never needed.

Hopefully I'll never have to use it, but it is good to know I have it, I gave out 3 for Xmas presents, to the ones that have everything they did not have this.

Hopefully these will never have to be used, but I bought this package of 2 Life Hammers for my vehicle. I got the idea while we were in Europe. The rental cars we used had them mounted just below the driver and passenger seat for quick accessibility.

This item gives such peace of mind! I think every car should be equipped with one. The Life Hammer has a tool to break auto glass, and near the base of the handle is a tool to cut seat belts. It is supposed to be mounted within reach of the driver, and that is my one small complaint - the shape of the hammer's container makes it hard to mount as the directions suggest. I have mine in my glovebox, which is still easily accessible and gets rid of the mounting issue. Apart from that, it's a very well designed tool and I'm thankful someone came up with it!
