Once programed I was able to monitor local police and fire calls. also picks up the airport chatter.

i bought this scanner becouse i owned the bc350a some years ago..and this unit is very sensitive, the same as the bc350a..i live in peoria county in illinois and can pick up quite often whiteside,bureau,marshall,knox,mason county sheriff dispatches..its not uncommon to recieve 50-100 miles away,and thats just using the factory atenna..for those who are wanting a trunking scanner..this is not it !! it recieves 800 megahertz but will not trunk !! but that did not matter for me.

uniden has been known for great products and this one is no exception. I really like the lock out feature and the pre programmed channels making searching easy if you dont have a list of your local channels just plug it in and let it find them for you. The fact that it includes a mounting bracket and antenna for your auto is another nice feature making it easy to go from home to a vehicle.....(check your local laws) overall a nice scanner....

It was easy to set up and program, it comes with an ac adaptor, and it hasn't failed me yet!
I'm streaming San Diego Int'l Airport Lindberg Field ATC 24/7 with it.

I like the easability of the scanner. Not as ddifficult as others. The biggest problem I have is the I don't know all the police/ fire/ emg codes.
